Our main office is in LA County, but you can work remotely anywhere in California!

About You:

We are looking for 3 ambitious, hardworking, growth-oriented person with attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaborate with the team. A successful candidate will be someone who is humble, yet confident, and not afraid to ask questions as well as share their ideas or opinions.

For the more senior roles, this person will be someone who leads by example, enjoys mentoring, recognizes the value in all levels of staff and helps to set them up for success.

***Someone who is also an Architectural Historian or Paleontologist would be highly desired***

What You Get To Do:

These positions will vary dependent upon experience and will be flexible for the right candidate, but generally, will collaborate with other senior-level team members and report to the president.

As part of this role, the successful individual will

  • Manage and monitor day-to-day on-call contract activities; support contract reporting, and ensure compliance with client and proponent policies and procedures

  • Serve as a client-facing point of contact for contract administration and compliance

  • This role includes mentoring and supporting project team members in all aspects of contract interpretation and compliance, risk management, and change management protocols

  • Work closely with clients to develop statements of work, cost estimates, schedule projections, contract documents, and follow processes for change management within the project team

  • Proactively capture, track, manage and report all potential project changes

This Role Might Be For You If You Have or Can Do The Following:

  • Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field is preferred

  • Senior roles - Seven years (7+) of demonstrated professional experience working on and leading archaeological survey, monitoring, and data recovery projects

  • Mid-Level Roles - Five years (5+) of experience - utility experience a plus

  • Ability to be listed as a Field Director/Crew Chief on BLM Cultural Resource Use Permits in CA, NV, or AZ is desired

    • Strong preference will be given to candidates who can be permitted as a Principal Investigator in one or more of those states

  • Solid understanding of CEQA, Sections 106 and 110 of the NHPA, and ARPA

  • Demonstrated experience writing and preparing cultural resource technical reports

  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent attention to detail and will have strong organizational and analytical skills and commitment to achieving team goals

  • Ability to identify cultural materials while safely working on construction sites and around heavy equipment

  • Demonstrate positive, collaborative methods for encouraging junior staff development / mentorship

  • Experience performing all aspects of archaeological survey, excavation, monitoring, data collection, and documentation in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and requirements

    • Experience should include work as a field archeologist in California or the Great Basin using a range of field methodologies, including survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring

    • Familiarity with California prehistoric and historical cultural resources (including the ability to quantify/analyze materials) and the culture history of California

  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with construction crews and project personnel

  • Maintain written daily survey, monitoring, or site-recordation logs and provide daily email updates to project management

  • Perform digital photography, and utilize electronic data collection tools and GIS mapping applications

  • Demonstrated experience managing all types of archaeological projects, keeping projects within budget and on schedule, and consulting with clients and agencies
