
Architectural Historian
Staff or Associate Level Opportunity
LA/OC/Redlands/SF - Remote/Hybrid options
We are an opportunity for either a Staff (Recent Graduate - 2/3 years exp) or Associate-level (3-7 years exp) Architectural Historian to join our quickly growing team of experienced, motivated professionals. Architectural Historians provide support in a variety of project tasks, which could include the following:
Historic properties surveys and assessments of significance
Historic properties evaluations
Federal-, state- and local-level historic preservation compliance
NHPA Section 106 and Section 110 compliance
CEQA/NEPA compliance
Historic contexts, historic structure reports, and cultural landscape reports
National, state, and local historic register nominations
Historic properties management planning
Public outreach/education
HABS/HAER/HALS documentation
Historic preservation plans
Mills Act
Mitigation planning and implementation
Secretary of the Interior’s Standards compliance
Archival research
Interpretive planning and exhibits
Historic resources photogrammetry and 3D documentation
Third-party reviews
Historic resource database design
Qualifications:
· Graduate degree in architectural history, historic preservation, history, or a closely related field
· Ability to meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications Standards for architectural history and/or history
· Ability to conduct historic property assessments and prepare associated documents and technical reports
· Excellent oral and written communication skills and commitment to achieving team goals
· Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines pertaining to historic properties
· Ability to support project manager, as needed, with duties such as staffing, scheduling, budgeting and allocating resources to meet project requirements
· Ability to support, as needed, the proposal development process for new business activities
