
Environmental Planner/Project Manager

The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys a fun collaborative team environment, has worked for utilities or renewable developers as a consultant and understands the process, knows how to write quality CEQA documents, has experience managing projects, likes interacting with clients/potential clients, and is good at communicating.
This CPUC Certified women-owned environmental consulting firm specializes in Environmental Impact Analysis, Utility Development Projects, and Public Process Planning, Public Outreach/Relations Efforts. They conduct work for clients in both the public and private sectors. They have a full service environmental staff and have conducted research and impact analyses for all environmental resources - water use, archaeological resources, biology, GIS, geology and soils, noise, air quality, hazardous materials, etc. Capabilities also include providing technical expertise in all natural resource areas as well as providing GIS and data management services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Prepare, manage and provide quality assurance/quality control of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Proponent’s Environmental Assessment (PEA) documents.
Conduct field work necessary to complete planning technical studies, environmental documents, and policy documents for specific projects as assigned.
Manage and complete assignments within parameters of job timeframes and budget.
Consult with federal, state and local regulatory agencies on scope and impact of projects.
Prepare scope of work and cost estimates for environmental tasks, including technical studies to be prepared, identification of proper level of CEQA/NEPA environmental documents and levels of efforts to complete documents, etc.
Conduct environmental impact analyses for various environmental resources.
Desired Qualifications:
A BA/BS degree or higher in environmental science, urban planning, biology, or related area of study.
Experience with utilities highly desired.
Minimum 5+ years of related experience with demonstrated experience in environmental impact assessment, land use planning, land development/entitlements, and/or urban design is preferred.
Experience with an environmental consulting firm, including schedule and budget management skills is preferred.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally, in writing and graphic work and have strong attention to detail.
Ability to conduct research and write technical reports.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment as needed.
Willingness to travel for projects as required.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel, and Google Earth is required.
Experience with California Public Utility Commission, General Order 131-D is desirable.
Experience with Clean Water Act (Section 404 and 401) is desirable.
Experience with MS Project, ARCGIS, and Adobe Illustrator is desirable.
