About Us:

We are a CPUC Certified women-owned environmental consulting firm specializes in Environmental Impact Analysis, Utility Development Projects, and Public Process Planning, Public Outreach/Relations Efforts. We conduct work for clients in both the public and private sectors. We have a full service environmental staff and have conducted research and impact analyses for all environmental resources - water use, archaeological resources, biology, GIS, geology and soils, noise, air quality, hazardous materials, etc.  Capabilities also include providing technical expertise in all natural resource areas as well as providing GIS and data management services.

What you get to do:

The GIS Analyst position will provide mapping and analysis support for environmental impact assessments, public process planning, public outreach and relations efforts and analysis for utility development projects. This analyst may work with multi-disciplined project teams that involve internal staff along with resources from business partners and other client teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conducts data gathering, conversion and analysis of GIS data.

  • Prepares data documentation or metadata for GIS projects.

  • Prepares maps and exhibits with GIS data sets.

  • Participates in client needs analyses.

  • Maintains continued knowledge of technology developments in the GIS field and the use of GIS software.

  • Monitors quality control within area of responsibility.

  • Assists GIS Manager or Project Managers in certain aspects of project management.

  • Performs other duties as requested when necessary.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Environmental Resource Management, or related field with a specialization in GIS.

  • Position interfaces with clients and public, so requires good communication and critical thinking skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Two to five years of GIS experience is required.

  • Ability to take the lead on a task or project and work on several projects or issues simultaneously.

  • Ability to use personal computers, word processing, database, presentation, GIS and scanning software.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally, in writing and graphic work and have strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, codes, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment as needed.

  • Proficiency in ESRI’s ArcGIS, MS Office, especially MS Excel and Google Earth is required.
