Senior Geologist/Project Manager

San Diego or San Francisco - Currently Remote

We are seeking a Senior Geologist to join our Environmental Risk Management (ERM) Practice and can be based in San Diego or either of our San Francisco offices. We are a full service consulting firm working with Non-Profits, Biopharma, Colleges, Major Petroleum Retailers, Hospitals, Private Developers, State/Federal Agencies, Industrial Facilities, Insurance Companies, Real Estate Companies, Homeowners, Financial Institutions, and Fortune 500 companies. This Role Might Be For You If You Have The Following:

  • 7-10+ plus years of increasingly responsible experience in conducting environmental investigation and remediation projects, along with preparing technical reports involving chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, and other contaminants impacting soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and indoor air.

  • Experience in environmental due diligence reports (ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Transaction Screens) is a plus.

  • A BS/MS in Geology or Hydrogeology with a PG license in California is required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong personal motivation, and teamwork ability are essential, as is effective interface with regulators and clients.

  • Project Management, including staff management, schedules, budgets, and client interfacing experience.

 

The ideal candidate would also have experience with:

  • USEPA, RWQCB, DTSC, and local regulatory agency guidelines for conducting environmental investigation and remedial action.

  • Permitting agencies in California.

  • UST investigation, remediation, and closure involving petroleum hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents.

  • Soil and groundwater sampling methodologies and drilling methodologies, including direct-push, hollow-stem auger, sonic, and others to investigate soil and bedrock.

  • Vapor intrusion and indoor air quality per USEPA, RWQCB, DTSC, and local regulatory agency guidelines.

  • Soil vapor and groundwater monitoring well installation for investigation and remedial action.

  • Human health and ecological risk assessments.

  • Strong understanding of 29 CFR 1910 regarding OSHA health and safety.
